Illinois-based club will begin play in 2018 in strong Midwest Division
TAMPA, Fla. – Following the recent addition of Columbus East FC, the Super Y League further expands its Midwest presence by announcing Oak Brook SC as its newest member club beginning play in 2018.
“On the heels of our recent Midwest announcements in the St. Louis area and Ohio, we’re thrilled to expand our presence in Illinois with the addition of Oak Brook SC,” said Dominic Colarusso, the USL’s Associate of Business Development. “The Chicago area is ripe with young, talented athletes, and we’re proud to provide another home for their continued development within the Super Y League.”
While Oak Brook SC has already been competing at the state, regional and national levels for several years, joining the Super Y League furthers the club’s goal of providing the best opportunities for its players to reach their full potential. Competing on a national scale with events such as the SYL Finals and USL Experience advances the club’s philosophy of providing an elite training environment and maximizing exposure for players.
“By joining the Super Y League, we will be giving our players an opportunity to continue our club philosophy on player development,” said Oak Brook SC Director of Coaching Chris Karabatsis. “It will give all of our players an opportunity to continue to improve during the summer months while enhancing their skills further so they can prepare and improve their technical, tactical, physical and psychological demands to be ready for even more soccer in the fall.”
“Our players will have the opportunity to continue to train during the summer months, take part in competitive games with quality opponents, play with other quality players from our area and also be evaluated and seen by other coaches and scouts.”

A part of United Soccer Leagues, LLC, which also operates the Division II USL, the new third-division league and Premier Development League, the Super Y League features a summer platform with an annual North American Championship in December.
